Engagement fittings
Five shapes. One floor discipline.
Fittings are not service tiers with hidden upsells. They are five ways to occupy the bay — each with a defined inlet, outlet, and packing list.
Every shape lists what is included before we schedule bay time. None assume unlimited revision. None promise rankings, revenue, or viral reach. They promise filed work: position frames, narrative spines, channel packs, production specs, measurement maps — or the subset your brief actually needs.

Bay sprint
A bay sprint occupies BAY 01 through BAY 03 in a focused fortnight. You bring one audience and one offer — not a whole product catalogue. We interview stakeholders, write the position frame, draft the narrative spine, and sequence channels for the next ninety days.
The sprint ends with a bound brief and a wall pin on the Proof Wall showing the spine and sample headlines. Your team or vendor executes production; we remain available for two email review rounds on copy they produce from our pack. Sprints suit launch windows, fundraising narratives, and regional entry stories.
Quarter retainer
The quarter retainer reserves a half-day each month in the hangar plus async filing time. It is narrative maintenance: new SKUs, executive speeches, dealer kits, crisis corrections, and the small edits that prevent full rewrites. BAY 06 stewardship is included — we compare live assets to the position frame before anyone requests a "fresh campaign."
Retainers file work at month end with accession tags. You receive a crate summary listing what changed, what stayed stable, and what should wait until next month. Retainers suit teams without senior copy leadership in-house — not teams that need a full-time agency of record for media buying.
Campaign crate
The campaign crate walks all six bays over six to ten weeks. It includes production in BAY 04: core copy, layout for agreed formats, and motion briefs where needed. Measurement mapping and one post-launch review are included. This is the shape closest to a traditional campaign engagement — but still without media buying or outcome guarantees.
Crates receive a number on the packing list. Everything we file carries that number so your finance and legal teams can match invoices to deliverables without chasing email threads.
Proof session
A proof session is one day in BAY 01 and BAY 05 with a different emphasis: we audit what you already claim in market. Website copy, ads, sales decks, support macros — whatever is live. We map claims to proof sources, flag gaps, and recommend what to soften, strengthen, or remove.
Proof sessions do not produce a full rebrand. They produce a red-line report and a priority list. Teams book them after compliance feedback, before fundraising, or when conversion drops and nobody agrees whether the story or the product is at fault.
Yard audit
The yard audit is an external read of live assets against stated intent. We do not interview customers; we read what you publish as a stranger would. Channel order, tone drift, visual inconsistency, and broken proof links are catalogued in a yard run list you can hand to any agency.
Audits suit leadership changes and post-merger integrations — moments when three brands speak at once. We deliver within five working days. Optional follow-up sprints can address the highest-risk items.
To choose a fitting, email [email protected] with your timeline and the bay you think you need. If you are unsure, start with Wall Notes or visit the Gatehouse page for visit etiquette.
Combining fittings
Engagements can chain. A proof session in March may reveal that only BAY 02 and BAY 04 need work — booked as a mini sprint in April. A yard audit in June may feed a quarter retainer starting July. We quote each phase separately so finance teams see scope boundaries.
We do not auto-upgrade sprints into crates without written agreement. If mid-sprint you realise production must be included, we pause, update the packing list, and reschedule bay time. That conversation is cheaper before assets go live than after.
International clients sometimes ask for remote-only work. Most fittings support video interviews and digital filing. Stewardship and proof sessions benefit from at least one in-person hour in the bay — not for atmosphere, but so someone sees the proof wall scale and understands why we refuse to compress the spine into a slide title.
Quotes list fitting shape, bay days, revision rounds, and close-out date. Deposits reserve calendar time; they are not transferable to a different client or product line. Retainer clients may pause one month — bay time rolls forward within the same quarter if notice arrives before the fifteenth. Campaign crates may split payment across three milestones tied to packing list ticks: position and spine, channel and production, measurement and stewardship.
